Privacy Policy

Tuklaso (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a landmark discovery app for the Philippines. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can access, correct, or delete it. It applies to the Tuklaso mobile app and this website.

Account information. When you create a Tuklaso account, we collect your email address and, if you choose to set one, a display name and profile photo or generated avatar.

Location data. To confirm you’re physically at a landmark before recording a visit, we collect your device’s GPS coordinates at the moment you submit a visit. We do not track your location in the background or outside the app.

Photos. When you verify a visit, the photo you take is uploaded and processed by an AI model to confirm it matches the landmark. Verified photos may be stored with your visit record; photos that fail verification are discarded.

Usage and device information. We collect basic technical data such as app version, device type, and crash logs to keep the app working reliably.

We do not collect precise location, photos, or contacts beyond what’s described above, and we do not sell your personal information.

• To create and secure your account, and let you sign in.
• To verify that a landmark visit you submit is genuine (GPS matching and AI photo verification).
• To build your personal visit history, stamps, and any achievements you unlock.
• To operate app features such as the Kulas assistant, the Landmark of the Week, and companion photo-sharing, where you choose to use them.
• To diagnose bugs and improve the app.

We use a small number of service providers to run Tuklaso. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
• Google (Gemini API) — processes photos you submit to verify landmark visits.
• Google Play services — app distribution, and crash/performance reporting.

We do not share your personal information with advertisers, and we do not sell data to third parties.

We keep your account and visit data for as long as your account is active, so your travel history stays intact. If you delete your account, we permanently remove your account record, visit history, and stored photos within 30 days, except where we’re required to retain limited records for legal or security purposes (such as fraud prevention logs).

You can review and update your profile information from within the app at any time. You can permanently delete your account and associated data yourself, without needing to contact us, from the Delete My Account page on this site.

Tuklaso is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe an underage user has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
